IMPORTANT REMINDER.

The most basic expectation of any competitor is that he or she is competing fairly against every other competitor in the event and the only way of ensuring that is if we are all playing by the same set of rules.

Therefore, before setting off for any competitive event, please take the time to satisfy yourself that, when presented for scrutineering, your vehicle will comply, in all respects, with the regulations set out in great detail in the ALRC ‘Green Book’. If you do not have a copy, see any Committee Member. We have these things coming out of our ears.

This reminder is not aimed at any individual and certainly is not intended to prevent anyone enjoying themselves – quite the opposite in fact.

There is a very apt paragraph on page 8 of the Green Book under the heading Competition Scrutineering.

‘The Association does not employ any professionals to carry out or assist in what is generally considered to be one of the most onerous appointments within motors sport eventing. Furthermore there are none of the verifications which other branches of motor sport take for granted, such as weighing the vehicle or dismantling an engine to confirm it is to manufacturer’s specification. Trust is placed on the competitor to comply with the spirit of the regulations.’
